Ready to soar!

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

As we suspected, the inclement weather system that has been hovering over Wolf's Fang Runway in Antarctica remained a factor in today's decision to continue our team's flight postponement. The good news is that the forecast is showing hope for improvement within the next 36 hours. And so, the wait continues.

Henk-Jan and Joke took advantage of the strong wind in Cape Town and headed to Noordhoek Beach near Chapman's Peak for some kite tweaking and testing. They had a magnificent session with the Gin 6 metre Shaman and their genuine excitement could be felt in this short clip.

The weather in South Africa continues to provide stellar conditions that have allowed our team to get out each day and work with their expedition equipment. Today they focused on the kites that will allow them to explore Queen Maud Land over the next weeks.

Tomorrow morning Joke and Henk-Jan will focus on crevasse rescue drills with their climbing equipment.

Spirits remain high and everyone on our team stays focused on the task at hand: to safely transport our duo to Antarctica for the adventure of a lifetime.

Please continue to follow their journey here and also at Expeditions Unlimited with its Live Explorer tracking feature.
