Not many people can claim to have enjoyed a picnic on the Greenland ice cap, but our team can now add this uniquely sublime experience to their list of accomplishments.
Over the past few days Olivier, Pierre and Jose-Luis have joined their guide Brecht in savouring each privileged moment that they have on this otherwise demanding expedition. They have continued to consistently accumulate kilometres of progress toward their goal, and now find themselves with just over 120 kilometres between their current position and the finish.
In the meantime, they enthusiastically complete each daily task with complete awareness of the rapidly dwindling time that they have left in their pristine environment. Their contagious positivity has made for a truly enjoyable adventure, even as they navigate the tedium and discomforts that pepper their long days and nights on the ice.
In other words, their joyous vibe should not conceal the real strength and deep determination that this team has exhibited over the past 3 1/2 weeks.
Should all go as planned we hope to share the news of their success sometime during the coming weekend.
Until then, please continue to follow their progress here on our blog and also via the LiveExplorer tracking feature at Expeditions Unlimited.
