It was a day of decision making for Henk-Jan and Joke.
The weather and intricate terrain have kept them pretty much stuck in the last 24 hours, but now they are able to move course slightly and proceed with their trek to Whichaway Camp.
We also have learned that their outbound flight from Antarctica back to Cape Town has been pushed back slightly by two days which allows them for more time to reach their destination.
In the meantime, we received these stunning images from their current environment. Henk-Jan described the sun halo below as "Nature, nasty and beauty in one."
We couldn't agree more.
