Brecht made the wise decision to allow our team to sleep a bit late this morning. Yesterday's strong start, combined with the excitement of the expedition's launch, demanded an immense amount of energy from our participants.
Despite the tardy departure, our team progressed in a steady fashion and added an additional 14 kilometres to their total. They are clearly adapting fast and well to the harsh winter conditions on Lake Baikal.
The weather is holding steady with daytime temperatures hovering around -18°C. The forecast for the next days shows cold temperatures with calm winds and the probability of freezing fog in the wee morning hours.
