Day 6 - Wolf's Fang to Whichaway
2021-12-04

Tonight's phone update from Henk-Jan and Joke was full of adaptations and perseverance.

It was a day of multiple changes of kites due to fickle wind conditions.

At one point, Henk-Jan pulled both sleds so that Joke could progress unhindered solo.

In the end, they devised a plan of working in 9 hour shifts followed by 9 hours of rest ... a rhythm that they intend to execute until they reach their goal of Whichaway Camp in approximately 3 days.

Their current position:

S 71° 22' 01"

E 10° 25' 53"

No matter the little frustrations, an atmosphere of wonder permeates all communications from Joke and Henk-Jan. They are hyper-aware of their privilege to journey through this unique environment, a special place which continues to amaze them with nature's spectacular displays.

They are admittedly tired but happy.
